Elephants
Do you know elephants are the biggest land(陆地) animals in the world? Elephants’ ears are very big and they look like fans(扇子). Their eyes are small. Elephants have two long and white teeth called tusks(长牙). They have a very long nose called a trunk(象鼻) and their trunks can smell and take food.
Elephants do not eat meat. They eat leaves, grass and fruit. They spend about 16 hours a day eating and walk about 4 miles a day to look for food. They only sleep for about 4 hours a day. They live in family groups. They can live to about 70 years. Their tusks are very expensive(昂贵的), so some greedy(贪婪的) people kill(杀害) them to get the tusks.
