Justine Galloway's father was a good runner. He passed on his love of the sport to Justine. When she was seven years old, her father was diagnosed(诊断) with Parkinson's disease. After he passed away, she kept running in his honour.
When Justine was running her tenth marathon(马拉松赛跑), however, she felt great pain(疼痛) in her body. She had to stop taking part in the race. Her pain got worse and soon she could hardly walk. Justine turned out to be sick, too, and her disease was similar to Parkinson's disease.
After that, Justine started to receive treatment(接受治疗). One day, she found that she could run backwards, but not forwards. One of her friends asked her, "Would you like to set a world record for running backwards?"
Justine loved the idea. She started to try running half marathons backwards and completed a few. Then, she decided to go for a Guinness World Record. On her second try, she succeeded and became the fastest backwards half marathon runner. She has since broken her own record twice.
Justine no longer feels sad about not being able to run forwards. She hopes her story will encourage more people. "Keep going," she said. "Don't let anything stop you!"
