Bird Zun at Shanxi Museum
Size: It is 39 cm tall, 30.5 cm long and 17.5 cm wide.
★History: It has a history of nearly 3,000 years. People found it in the year of 2000 in Quwo, Linfen.
★Fact: It's a bronze bird with its head looking back, The word “Jinhou” inside the bird is the earliest example of using “Jin” in history. That's why Shanxi was called “Jin”.
When you walk into Shanxi Museum, you will be amazed by many things on show. There are over 500,000 pieces of collections there. You can find history and culture halls and art halls with different treasures. Some of them are meaningful symbols to show the history of Shanxi.
With museums becoming more and more popular, students choose to join in activities there. Two groups of students from Yucai Middle School took part in project-based learning(PBL, 项目式学习) in Shanxi Museum. Here are their reports.
It was a cool project about the history of ancient coins. We did this by visiting the shows, doing research and sharing our findings in groups. We could see real ancient coins in front of our eyes. We also had a deep understanding of the money and trade in history.

The paper cutting has a long history in Shanxi. We visited the museum and researched the paper cuttings deeply. We enjoyed real works of paper cuttings. What's more, we got the cultural meaning behind them. With the help of the workers there, we even made our own paper cuttings in groups. What a wonderful experience!
