[2025 南阳一模改编] Life for the elderly is changing quickly because of technology (科技). Some find fun in these changes, while others have trouble with it.
Many seniors are discovering fun ways to use technology. Free online classes let them learn painting, gardening, or even how to use smartphones. For example, Grandma Zhang learned to make digital (数字的) birthday cards for her grandchildren. Social apps like WeChat help families stay in touch. “I can see my grandson’s face though he studies in a foreign country,” said Mr Li with a smile. Smartwatches are also popular. Communities are taking steps to help. Young volunteers teach seniors to use phones safely. In Beijing, a 16-year-old boy became a “tech-teacher” of his neighbours. “Mr Chen learned to send emojis! He sends me a thumbs-up after each lesson. And he also uses it to give a like,” the boy said proudly.
As 5G networks get to more places, even villages are joining the digital age. The key is to make technology kind to people of all ages. After all, today’s young “phone experts” will one day be seniors too. Let’s enjoy digital life wisely, stay safe, and keep a balance. This way, we can make the most of it and be ready for the future.
