(1)not only … but also … “不但……而且……”，用来连接两个并列的成分，可以连接主语、宾语或谓语等。
(2)当 not only… but also… 连接两个并列的主语时，遵循“就近一致”原则，即谓语动词的单复数形式与靠得最近的主语保持一致。
(3)but also 中的 but 和 also 均可省略；but also 也可换为 but… as well。
The boy is not only healthy but also lively.
