二、(2025·晋中市平遥县期末)阅读理解
Recently, 58-year-old Yi Qunlin amazed everyone with his piano skills. He was the first person to perform in the new concert hall at the Cultural and Art Center in Shenzhen. He never imagined that one day he could play the piano in public. In fact, he is not a music teacher or a musician. He has worked as a builder in Shenzhen for years.
In May 2023, Yi got the chance to play at the concert hall. His music sounded so nice and smooth that plenty of people stopped to enjoy it. “In my opinion, he is like a pianist,” one of them said with a smile. Many people praised Yi for his wonderful performance.
Yi was born into a poor family in Hunan Province. As a kid, he had few chances to play musical instruments but he really loved music. “My family was too poor to pay for a piano, so I used to visit my cousin who had a piano. My cousin taught me to play the piano,” Yi recalled.
“It is a pity that I couldn’t go to a music school because I did not even finish primary school. So playing the piano in a concert hall is like a dream come true for me,” Yi added.
As a builder, he is very hard-working and has little spare time to visit the city. Yi happened to see a public piano near the subway station. Then his interest in music was aroused (激发) again.
His story shows that it’s never too late to follow your dreams and that talent can come from anywhere. Yi’s hard work brought happiness to many and showed how music could change lives.
