二、读后续写
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Tom, a 15 - year - old boy, and his mother Marissa didn't have much money, living daily with just enough to eat three meals and pay the bills. Without his mother knowing, Tom had been saving up his pocket money for months to buy her a birthday present. He had collected a total of 25.
As a cleaner at a nearby park, Marissa never took a bus, choosing to walk to and from work to save money. One day, Tom noticed that her mother came home wet to the skin. She told him her umbrella broke because of the strong wind and that she wanted to get home in time to have dinner with him.
The following day, his mother woke up with a fever.
"Mom, don't get up from bed," Tom told her. "I'll attend to you today. Here is your medicine," he said, handing it to her with a glass of water. After Marissa took the medicine, Tom walked to the nearby supermarket to buy something to cook a hot bowl of soup for his mother.
It occurred to him that his mother's birthday was in a couple of days, so he wanted to get his mother an umbrella first and spend the rest of his money on food.
"What is your strongest umbrella here, sir?" he asked the shop assistant. "I am looking for something that doesn't break when hit by the wind and something that will last for years." The man showed Tom some umbrellas in different colors and Tom chose a purple one, which was his mother's favorite color. It was 22. After checking out, Tom couldn't help smiling after being able to use his 25 to buy everything he needed. He even had some money to spare!
While Tom was walking back home, it suddenly started to pour. He was running toward a nearby bus stop to seek shelter when he noticed an old lady walking slowly while everyone around her was running toward sheltered areas. Without hesitation, he took the umbrella out of his bag. The old woman was surprised to feel that the rain stopped suddenly.
注意:续写词数应为 150 左右。

Paragraph 1:
She looked up and realized an umbrella was sheltering her from the rain.
A beam of delight appeared on her face. "Thank you. It's wise to get an umbrella on such a rainy day, isn't it?" she said gratefully. Tom smiled and shook his head, telling her that his mother's umbrella was broken, so he just bought a new one as her birthday gift. "You are such a considerate boy. Your mother must be very proud of you," the old lady praised, her eyes sparkling with warmth. Tom blushed a little, saying it was just what he should do. They walked side by side in the rain, chatting gently like old friends. When they arrived at the old lady's house, she insisted on giving Tom a small gift to express her thanks, but he politely refused. They exchanged a knowing smile and waved goodbye after the rain stopped.
Paragraph 2:
Tom arrived home and his mother asked why he had been out for so long.
He told her the whole story about helping the old lady, his eyes shining with joy. Marissa listened carefully, a soft smile playing on her lips. "You did the right thing, my dear," she said, pulling him into a warm hug. "But what about the umbrella you bought?" Tom giggled shyly, putting a cold towel on his mother's forehead first. Then he took out the umbrella from his bag and handed it to her. "Happy birthday, Mom!" Marissa's eyes widened in surprise, and tears of happiness welled up in her eyes. She opened the umbrella slowly, admiring its beautiful pattern. "It's the most precious gift I've ever received," she whispered, holding Tom tightly in her arms. The room was filled with warmth and love, making the rainy day outside seem far away.
