Jeremy Lin grew up in Palo Alto, California, where he spent much of his time playing basketball for fun. In those days, he was also a fan of the Golden State Warriors, the local NBA team.
During his teenage years, Lin was the leader of the Palo Alto High School basketball team. He led the team to a national championship. When he entered the college, however, he wasn't offered any sports scholarships. Luckily, after he was allowed to study in Harvard, he was offered a place in its college basketball team.

During his first season with the Golden State Warriors, Lin experienced both highs and lows. But throughout it all, Lin was always very popular with the Warriors' fans, who cheered wildly for him at games. Many of the fans are Asian Americans, like Jeremy, and they remember his wonderful high school basketball days. For them, he is a hometown boy who, as a result of his natural ability and hard work, has made it to the NBA.
