B
These days, a lot of movies are adapted from The New York Times Best Sellers by renowned writers. Movies like Twilight, Harry Potter and The Hunger Games are just a couple of these well-known series that have got numerous fans.
There’s a continuous discussion between moviegoers and book nerds on whether or not you should spend time reading the original book before watching the movie. Does that really matter? Does it really impact on your expectations for the movie? Is the time and money worthwhile? Well, the answer is yes.
Although reading the book isn’t necessarily required, it’s definitely recommended, especially if you are interested in the background information, plot and character development.
It is widely accepted that movies can’t accurately represent the original books. Books involve so much information that it’s impossible to make movies that have every detail. Of course, everyone understands and describes things differently, so unless the author is a long-lost twin brother or sister of the movie director, you’ll only get what the director has imagined while keeping it at a given amount of time.
Movies complement the original books. The story becomes vivid with sound and images, which feels like seeing a friend you’ve been eager to know face to face for the first time. With all the visual and audio effects, it’s hard not to be excited about one of your favorite novels being adapted into a movie.
For a book lover, nothing is better than the bond with a character when following the character’s journey through the story. Character development plays the most important role when it comes to novels, so people always go to the theater with high expectations. You have already known the entire story, so what matters is how actors and producers create a final product worth seeing.
All things considered, regardless of whether you’re one of the book-loving people or those who fall asleep whenever starting to read a book, aim for the nearest library, bookstore, or borrow one from a friend and make the first move.
