What Are People Doing Around the World?
At this moment, in different places of the world, people are doing different things because of different time zones(时区).
In Beijing, it’s midday. The sun is shining brightly. People are having lunch. Some are eating rice and chicken. Some are having noodles. Some people are seeing friends or shopping in the streets. There are many people in the restaurants and shopping malls.
In New York, it’s late at night. The city is quiet. Most people are sleeping. But there are still some people who are working in hospitals or police stations. And some young people may be staying up late, watching TV or playing computer games at home.
In Moscow, it’s morning. People are starting their work. Children are going to school. They are carrying their schoolbags and walking to school or taking the school bus. The traffic(交通) on the streets is getting busy.
In Sydney, it’s afternoon. People are working or studying. Some are having a cup of coffee during the break. Others are doing sports in the parks or gyms. The weather is nice, and many people enjoy the sunshine outside.
As you can see, different time zones make a big difference in people’s daily lives. When it’s daytime in one country, it may be nighttime in another. This shows us how big the earth is and how people are living their lives at the same time but in different ways.
