六、在科技发达的今天,人类对世界的认知仍然十分有限,很多事情我们无法用现在掌握的技术与知识来解释。请你阅读以下材料,记录一下人们对文中所讲事件的猜测与理由,并写出你的观点。
Every year, many people go to Taos, a small town in New Mexico, to listen to a kind of strange sound: the Taos Hum (陶斯之声).
The word “hum” means a low sound that never stops. Why is the sound strange? First, the Taos Hum that people hear is quite different. Someone says it sounds like a little bee flying around you. Others think it sounds like a car moving in a faraway place. Second, nobody knows where the sound comes from. Joe Mullins, a scientist, is one of the first persons to do research on the hum. He put some instruments in places where people could hear the hum, but those instruments couldn’t “hear” the hum! Others who wanted to find the hum failed, too.
Many people try to explain that strange sound. Someone says it is a noise made by insects. Someone believes it may come from some secret projects. Someone says there might be an underground UFO base! But no one is sure which is right.

人们对文中所讲事件的猜测:
1. It is a noise made by insects. 2. It may come from some secret projects. 3. There might be an underground UFO base.

你的观点:
4. 示例: It may be the sound of the expanding universe.
答案: 1. It is a noise made by insects. 2. It may come from some secret projects. 3. There might be an underground UFO base. 4. 示例: It may be the sound of the expanding universe.
