A
I like animals very much, especially birds. When I have time, I like feeding birds, watching birds and reading books about animals. Let me tell you something about owls(猫头鹰) and pigeons(鸽子).

Owls are night animals. They have big eyes. They can see better at night. Owls are quite strange. They sleep in the daytime. At night, they come out to look for food. So animals like owls are called nocturnal ones.

Pigeons are big birds. They like to live in a birdhouse. Many people like to keep pigeons. They make rooms for them near a window. In the daytime, the pigeons fly away. But at night they come back. Sometimes people take a pigeon faraway from home, and they tie a letter to one of its legs. The pigeon can take the letter back home!

On November 25th, 2023, a Sumatran rhino(苏门答腊犀牛) named Delilah gave birth to a baby rhino at a sanctuary(动物保护区) in Indonesia. The baby rhino weighed 25 kilograms and it is a boy. This was the second baby Sumatran rhino born in Indonesia last year. It's exciting news because there are only a few Sumatran rhinos in the world, less than 50!
Sumatran rhinos used to live in many places, but now they only live on Sumatra. The rhinos are in great danger because their homes in the forests are getting destroyed. They are losing their homes. And some people kill them for their horns(角) to make money.
To save Sumatran rhinos, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is fighting to stop bad people from hurting the rhinos. They also help them live and have babies in a sanctuary.
For us, we can help too! Don't buy things made of rhino horns. And tell more people about this: The animal should live on the earth, because the earth is also their home. We hope everyone can do something to help them and one day more Sumatran rhinos will live happily in this world.
