D
What would you do if your best friend and you have different ideas? At first, I didn't know what to do when I found that my best friend Karina disagreed with me on some things.
When we first met in a summer camp, we got along so well.
But then something happened at a picnic. “Did you hear about the shopping centre news?” asked one of our friends Levar. “They want to cut down lots of trees to make room for a shopping centre.”
“That's terrible! We have to stop that,” I said.
“I differ with you on that point,” said Karina. “The shopping centre would give new jobs to people in need.”
“But animals would lose their homes!” I said. “I want people to have jobs, but it doesn't mean cutting down trees.”
“Don't you think people's jobs are more important?” Karina asked.
“Maybe two people with opposite points of view just aren't meant to be friends,” I was thinking.
Just then, Levar jumped up and broke the silence. “Let's see who can do the high kick (回旋踢)!” Tyler took the challenge, Karina followed, and I finally joined them.
I wished Karina could agree with me about saving the trees, but she had her reasons for believing what she did. I was so angry that I didn't talk to her for days.
Later, my mother knew it and said to me, “No two people are the same. You should respect each other. And no matter what happens, the difference doesn't mean losing a good friend.”
After listening to my mum's words, I said sorry to Karina and we are still good friends now.
