《2025年全优方案组合训练九年级英语全一册人教版》

B
With winter coming, I finally decided to change the old blanket and quilt on my bed. After years of washing and dogs and cats jumping on them, they were worn - out.
I found a nice blanket at a store and *dug out* an old quilt from my dresser. But when I looked at the quilt, I noticed that near the corner was a piece of tape with my father’s name written on it. I remembered that this was the same quilt he used at the nursing home during the last months of his life. I picked off the tape and held it in my hand. I looked up to the sky and smiled. I didn’t think my father would mind if I used his old quilt now.
Spreading my father’s quilt on the bed, I remembered the greatest paradox (悖论) of life: The end is really the beginning. Everything we go through in this life is preparation for the greater life to come.
Everything we face in this world can help us become better, stronger and kinder. The love we choose in this life is the love we carry with us into the next. But knowing all this doesn’t reduce your love for life here on Earth. It intensifies (加深) it instead. Life here may be short and weak, but it is a gift.
My advice then is to live like today is your last day. Go through the day with an open heart. Welcome all the joy that the day gives you and share it with others.
