B
One day, a lion was sleeping under a big tree. A little mouse came by, running around to find food. By accident, it ran across the lion's nose. The lion woke up angrily. He caught the mouse with his big paw (爪子), ready to eat it.
The mouse was scared and said in a low voice, “Please, Mr Lion, don't eat me! Maybe I can help you someday. ” The lion found this very funny. How could a little mouse ever help a big, strong lion? But he wasn't hungry, so he let the mouse go.
A few days later, the lion got caught in a hunter's net (网). He tried hard to get out, but he couldn't get free because the net was too strong. The mouse heard the lion's roars (咆哮) and quickly came to help. Using its teeth, the mouse chewed (嚼) through the ropes of the net. Slowly but surely, the lion was free.
“Thank you, little mouse,” said the lion. “I'm wrong. Even a small friend can be a great help. You have saved my life!” The mouse smiled up at the lion, “We are all connected in this big forest. What goes around comes around. A kind act is never forgotten. ”
From then on, the lion and the mouse became good friends. Their friendship became a symbol of unity (团结) in this forest.
