Ⅱ. 任务型阅读
[自我管理]The story of Nigeria's first female mechanic(女机修工) Sandra Aguebor can show us how to make dreams come true.
Sandra was interested in cars when she was a child. At the age of 13, she started receiving training(训练) to be a car mechanic at a garage(汽车修理厂) in her city. At first, some people thought it was impossible for a girl to be a car mechanic, but Sandra didn't stop her dream. Sandra's parents didn't want her to do that because they thought it was not a good job for girls.
Sandra kept on learning more about what makes cars run and how to fix them. She also went to college for further study of mechanics. She finally became the country's first female mechanic. After working for others for some time, she finally opened her own shop and later started Lady Mechanic Initiative,a non-profit organization(非营利组织).
Through the organization, Sandra wants to help other women follow their dreams and live independently(独立地). Young women from all over Africa can take lessons on fixing or driving cars there. Sandra hopes to train 100,000 women and is now working to start a new business. “More jobs can be offered to women in Nigeria by doing so,” she says.
