六、阅读理解。(每小题 2 分,共 20 分)
A
The earth has warmed by about 1.8 degrees over the last 100 years. But why? And how? Well, scientists are not exactly sure. The earth could be getting warmer on its own, but many of the world's leading climate scientists think that the things people do are helping to make the earth warmer. Scientists are sure about the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is important. Without the greenhouse effect, the earth would not be warm enough for humans to live on. But if the greenhouse effect becomes stronger, it could make the earth warmer than usual.
Even a little extra warming may cause problems for humans, animals and plants:
Rising sea levels could make humans and animals move farther inland.
Warming temperatures mean that animals that live in cold areas will have to adapt (适应) to a new temperature or become extinct (灭绝的).
Rising temperatures have an effect on rainfall which has an effect on how and where plants grow and develop.
The good news is that you can help to save the earth! By changing some of the things that you do in your daily life, like turning off lights and recycling, you can reduce your carbon footprint (碳足迹) easily.
