In May 2018, a North Carolina teenager announced (宣布) that she had been accepted into 113 colleges.
"When I got the first reply in the mail, I was like, 'Wow, this is really happening,'" said 17 - year - old Jasmine Harrison. "I don't really think that I'd be able to do that by myself."
The teenager, who graduated from high school with almost full marks, was also offered with more than 4.5 million scholarship (奖学金) by the 113 colleges. Harrison didn't get into any school she applied (申请) to, however. It was reported that the high school girl was refused by Seton Hall University and the University of South Carolina.
The cost to apply to so many schools was said to be totally 135, and the teenage girl had received support from her mother and her school. Harrison took part in the College Application Week, where she was able to apply for a number of North Carolina colleges for free. "On those late nights when I was preparing those applications with my mum, we just felt like we couldn't do this. We just ended up with singing songs together to get through the night," Harrison said.
Among the 113 choices, she finally picked Bennett College in Greensboro. It's one of the three colleges that offered a full scholarship.
