Ⅳ. Read the passage and answer the questions.
There was a 10 - year - old boy whose left arm was damaged, and afterwards had to be amputated (截肢). He decided to learn judo (柔道). His teacher was an old Chinese judo expert.
The boy learned quickly. However, after three months, he had been taught only one move. He asked his teacher to teach him more moves. The teacher told him that this one move was all he would need.
Soon after, the boy entered a competition. In the final, he had to fight an opponent (对手) who was much bigger and more experienced than him. After a long match, his opponent seemed to lose concentration (专注). Quickly, the boy took the chance and pinned (按住) him to the ground. He was the winner.
On the ride home, the boy asked his teacher, "How could I win with only one move?" The teacher answered, "You have learned to do one of the most difficult moves in all of judo. And the only defence (防护) against that move, is for your opponent to grab your left arm."
Sometimes your biggest weakness can become your greatest strength.
1. When did the boy take the chance?
2. What is the defence against his difficult move?
*3. What can we learn from the boy's teacher's words?
