(C)
Andy rode slowly on his way to school, daydreaming about the fishing trip on the weekend. He was so busy dreaming about the fish that he didn’t notice everything else around him.
A strange sound finally drew his attention. He stopped and looked curiously up to the sky. He felt shocked and scared immediately. A huge group of bees filled the sky like a black cloud and they seemed to be flying angrily towards him.
With no time to waste, Andy rode in the opposite direction, without knowing how to escape from the bees. When the bees came closer, he was scared. He knew that he was sensitive(敏感的) to bee stings(蜇伤). The last sting had landed him in hospital. And that was only one bee sting! He had to stay in bed for two whole days. Suddenly, his father’s words came to him, “When you are in danger, don’t panic. Use your brain and think your way out of it.”
On a nearby hill, he could see smoke rising slowly from the chimney(烟囱) of the Nelson family home. “Bees don’t like smoke,” he thought. “They couldn’t get into the house.” Andy raced towards the Nelson house, but the bees were coming pretty close. Andy knew he could not reach the house in time and the bees would catch up with him soon.
Suddenly, he saw a small pool. He got off his bike and dove into the cool water, stayed below the surface and kept away from the horrible insects. After holding his breath for as long as he could, Andy came up and noticed the bees had gone. He got out of the water and struggled(挣扎) up to ring the doorbell. Mrs Nelson took him inside and rang his mother…
