Do you know “Cun VA”? The 2023 “Ninety - Nine Cup” Hainan (Wenchang) Township Volleyball Association(VA) League(联赛) started on June 30 in Longlou.
20 teams from towns and villages competed in 52 games over 45 days. The players, aged between 15 and 59, are from all walks of life: students, teachers, farmers and so on.

“We like village games because we can find a seat anywhere and watch them for free. There are more than 600 volleyball courts(球场) in Wenchang. Almost every village has a court and almost everyone knows how to play volleyball. There is no set time for practicing playing volleyball. We do that anytime we are free,” Chen says.
“I didn't see such an exciting volleyball game before. The court is crowded with people. Some of them even climb trees to watch it,” says a visitor.
