Ⅴ. 短文阅读
When I was a little boy, I was taught to be a person of integrity(正直). I should do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
After I grew up, I started making use of this rule in every area of my life. But when I did so, some people told me it's wrong. Whenever I told the truth, they told me, “You take things too seriously.” For a while, I wondered if I really needed to continue to do the right thing or if I should change the rules. However, whenever I did or said something that were against my beliefs(信念), I would feel bad. From then on, I decided to follow my rules.
If you have had similar experiences, why not ask yourself some questions? If your car is sent for repairing(修复), do you want the repairman to offer your car the best service? Of course, you do. Integrity is one of life's most important rules.
Integrity shapes your character(性格). Follow it in every area of your life. Perhaps, in the short run you might get cheated. However, in the long run, if you follow your rules, you will be the one in charge of(掌管) your life.
