一、阅读理解
|题目|体裁|字数|难度|建议用时|实际用时|正确率|
|唐朝的女性妆容|说明文|327|★★★★|9 分钟|____分钟|____/5|
The Tang Dynasty (618CE—907CE) was a golden age of Chinese culture, and its art was famous for its colourful and creative styles. What do you think when you think about Tang Dynasty art? One feature about china, paintings and clothing from that time was that they used a lot of different colours.
This was also true for women's faces. The ladies back then were given much freedom to express their beauty. They used makeup(化妆品) with brighter colours than before. They put makeup mainly on their cheeks, forehead(额头) and eyebrows(眉毛) to look more beautiful.
"Women's facial makeup in the Tang Dynasty was different from today. They put yellow powder(粉) on their foreheads. It was called the 'yellow forehead'," explains Sun Ji of the Museum of Chinese History. Just like the "yellow forehead", the "green eyebrows" was also a makeup word. ▲ They dyed(染) their eyebrows green to make themselves look nice. Later, the green colour got darker and turned black.
Besides the yellow forehead and green eyebrows, they also stuck a flower-like thing between their eyebrows. The shapes were different. The simplest one was a round dot(小点). A fancier one could look like a pair of wings.
Nowadays, most of us may not think the Tang Dynasty makeup is very beautiful. "Aesthetics change," Sun says. "For example, in the early Tang Dynasty, women thought wide eyebrows were pretty. They also put two dots at the corners of their mouths. They were usually light in colour."
One thing remains unchanged, though: People always like to look for beauty. The most important thing is that people from different times love beauty. Even if Tang makeup looks unusual to us today, it remains a charming part of China's great cultural history. The Tang Dynasty's colourful art and creative styles continue to inspire people around the world.
