二、阅读理解

Are you ready to cook, clean or grow plants? From September 2022, students in primary and middle schools have at least one Labour (劳动) class a week. They try different kinds of labour and learn different life skills. This is Labour education.
Labour education can help people to be active, creative (有创造力的) and happy in life. Through such classes, students can not only learn the meaning of labour and its value (价值), but also understand the importance of hard work.
Some schools have some interesting Labour classes. Students from a school in Chongqing have a class about catching loaches (泥鳅) in the river and learn about their habits. And there is also a "cooking" class in Chongqing. Teachers don't ask students to read any books or look at the blackboard. They just instruct students how to make food. For example, with the teachers' help, students make the nice Chongqing noodles. At the end of the class, students taste the noodles with their classmates. In Jiangxi, kids make tofu with a millstone (磨盘). They also eat tofu made by themselves. "We learn about the wisdom and hard work of our ancestors (祖先)," said Lin Boxuan, a seventh grader. Some students also keep small animals at home, like chickens. They learn how baby chickens are born and take care of them.
