三、阅读表达

阅读短文,回答下面5个问题。(每题答案不超过10个词)
Shopping Carts
When you go shopping, you usually use a shopping cart. So the question is: How did shopping carts come into our daily life?
The first shopping carts were put into service by an American grocery(杂货店) store owner called Sylvan Goldman in 1937. At first, Mr Goldman set up self-service stores (自助商店) equipped with baskets. Customers(顾客) could carry the baskets while they were shopping. One night, in 1936, Mr Goldman sat in his office and wondered how customers could move more groceries. He looked at a wooden folding chair and put a basket on the seat and wheels on the legs. That's how the idea of the shopping cart came to Mr Goldman's head.
By 1940, shopping carts became a part of Americans' life. Supermarkets were redesigned so that people could move around with shopping carts easily. The checkout counter design also changed.
Since then, the shopping cart has gone through many more changes as time passes by. Carts are bigger to hold more goods, but the basic design hasn't changed much in the last 50 years.
Till now, the shopping cart has become popular all around the world. It is the best helper for shoppers.
