Tasaku was a stonecutter(石匠). He worked hard for his good life. One day,a prince rode by. Tasaku looked at the prince with envy(嫉妒) because he wished to be a prince and have a better life. The mountain god knew about Tasaku's wish. He turned Tasaku into a prince.
After becoming a prince,Tasaku's life was better. One day,Tasaku discovered that the sun burned the flowers in his garden. This made Tasaku realize that the sun was stronger than a prince. Filled with envy,he asked the mountain god to make him the sun.
As the sun,Tasaku had an even better life. He began to show off his light and heat. When a black cloud covered him,Tasaku thought that a cloud was stronger than the sun. He asked the mountain god to turn him into a cloud.
Tasaku became a cloud and enjoyed his better life. But he was not fulfilled and still wanted more. "To be truly happy,I must be a mountain!" he complained(抱怨).
