二、阅读理解
|题目|体裁|字数|难度|建议用时|实际用时|____分钟|____/4|
In 2024, a group of students from a school in California, the United States, went on an educational and cultural exchange journey in three cities in China: Beijing, Suzhou, and Shanghai.
For Ian Sierra, a boy in the group, this was his first time travelling abroad, and he felt nervous before the trip. "I should behave well, because every move is the image(形象) of the whole group, my school, and my country."
During the trip, Sierra and his friends were excited that they opened their minds, tried new things, and talked with Chinese people actively. Sierra visited places of interest and tried local food, but the part he liked best about the trip was the exchange and homestay(家庭寄宿) programme at Beijing No.4 High School International Campus(BHSFIC), where he spent over two days. "My homestay partner, his parents, and everyone else were very welcoming and kind. I felt like I had become part of an interconnected(有联系的) community," he said. For Sierra, the weeklong trip even influenced his plan for the future job. "I used to consider becoming a Maths teacher in the USA. Now I'm planning to work in Beijing or Shanghai." Gong Siyong, a student at BHSFIC and Sierra's homestay partner, said that an exchange experience was very surprisingly different from simply touring a country. "Through our time together, I've come to realize the students from both schools have their different personalities(性格) and qualities(品质). We have more similarities than differences, and those differences can be understood," said Gong.
Sierra kept his new plan after coming back home and he wanted to be an English teacher. He was thankful for the trip and wanted to travel to China again. He and Gong still talked through phones.
