Dear Li Shuang,
I’m really happy to receive your letter. You said you were learning to cook. Is it interesting? I think if you want to keep healthy, food is very important. You’ll study better if you try all kinds of different foods, especially vegetables and fruit. I eat them every day.
You asked me how to make a milk shake. There are different kinds of milk shakes, such as the apple milk shake, the banana milk shake and the carrot milk shake. The carrot milk shake is my favourite, because carrots and milk are both good for my health. Before starting, we need a carrot, a cup of milk, some ice and two teaspoons of honey. 任务1 (2025·湖北黄石新港工业园期末)阅读表达
Hole-in-the-wall restaurants are more and more popular in China.
They are small restaurants that may not have beautiful environment or good service like traditional restaurants but have many delicious local(当地的) dishes. You can find them in some small streets in different parts of a city. The most popular ones usually have a history of more than 10 years.
Kit Chen, a 30-year-old Beijing worker, is one such example. During weekends, he always walks through different hutongs to find hole-in-the-wall restaurants. “Before that, I usually went to Internet-famous restaurants. However, I found out that they only use pre-made food or just stir-fry (炒) their dishes. They are expensive and not fresh,” said Chen. But hole-in-the-wall restaurants are different. The price of the dishes is lower than that of the dishes from the Internet-famous restaurants. “They buy the ingredients(食材) from local markets, so the dishes are also cheap,” he added.
Wang Hongjie, a 16-year-old student from Sichuan, likes the experience of eating at hole-in-the-wall restaurants. “Because of the little space, diners at hole-in-the-wall restaurants usually need to eat meals at the same table. We don’t know each other but we can talk with each other,” she said.
However, the food safety problem is more common at hole-in-the-wall restaurants. To solve it, experts advised that these restaurants should get more training and have better service.
