In China, many schools have a "spring outing" every year. Students go to a park or some other scenic areas. People in the US also have their own special springtime customs.
One example of this is spring break. For about one week in early-to-mid March, all students in the US will have a break from school. Many students will use this time to go on vacation. High school kids usually travel with their parents. College students travel on their own. When I was in college, some of my friends and I took a road trip across the country for spring break. We saw all kinds of places and met lots of new friends along the way.
Another tradition is spring cleaning. Each spring, many families will spend some time cleaning their house. Families will find old things that they don't want to keep and sell them to their neighbours for low prices in their yard. It's called a yard sale. You never know what you might find at a yard sale. I've found musical instruments, rare(罕见的) books and all kinds of other interesting things. Spring cleaning is a good way to get a fresh start for the new year.
