The festival starts on the evening of the full moon night in the 12th Hindu month. It usually takes place in February or March.
How is Holi celebrated in India?
People sing and dance around a bonfire on the eve of Holi. They also throw wood and dry leaves into the fire to drive evil spirits away and celebrate a new life. The following day, family and friends gather to throw colourful powders(粉末) at each other and in the air. Each of the colours has different meanings.
