Three young people told us their ideas about visiting museums.
Chris      I prefer museums where they move things around, and bring in new things to keep it interesting. I also like to have things to listen to as well as look at. I suppose I like museums because I’m really interested in history and art. We study these subjects at school, but I’ve actually found out a lot more about them from museums than from my textbooks.
Emily       There are lots of great museums for me to visit in my city. You should never try to see a whole museum the first time you pay a visit to it. Just go to one or two rooms, and then return as often as you can to see the rest. For me, it’s important that the people who work in the museum are pleasant and happy to talk to me about the things on show.
Daniel      I don’t go to museums much, unless it’s during my holidays in new cities. Then I make sure I spend at least a day staying in the most famous ones. If it’s a big museum and I don’t have much time, I sometimes walk into a room and choose just five things to look at. I also take a tour if there is one guide, as I learn so much more by listening to the person showing us around.

I went to India two years ago with my parents. It was the best holiday in my life. It took us two weeks to travel around and visit many places of interest.
The night before we left for India, I was so excited that I could not fall asleep. Our plane left at 1:00 p.m. and it took nearly six hours to take a flight to New Delhi.
The next day, we went on a sightseeing tour. I took lots of photos and we all bought some souvenirs at the market, for I wanted to give them to my friends.
On the third day of our trip, we went to a city called Jaipur. At Jaipur, we visited the City Palace and rode elephants. I almost fell off the elephant. I was very scared.
The highlight of our trip was the Taj Mahal. It is a very famous and beautiful place that was built around 1648.
Some people think that Indian food is spicy, but some dishes are not spicy at all. My favourite dish is chicken korma. It is delicious. It tastes a bit sweet because it is made with coconut. Rice is their staple food(主食). We ate it every day, and it was just like being at home!
India is so big that it is impossible to go to all the wonderful places in one trip. I hope that I can return again someday.
