|时文阅读|In early March, China gets some funny weather. It gets warmer, and when it rains, you can also hear thunder. This is Jingzhe(惊蛰), or the "Awakening of the Insects".
Falling usually on March 5, it is one of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese lunar calendar, which used to guide ancient Chinese people's daily lives and farming.
The Chinese classics recorded a time when spring thunder woke up insects that had been hibernating(冬眠) for the winter.
