Grace and her dad are walking to the store on a cold day. “I'm tired of winter,” says Grace. Dad says “Hello!” to their neighbour. “I'm sure Mr Green wishes spring would come too.” Grace looks up to see Mr Green through his window.
“Mr Green loves his garden,” says Grace. Mr Green has the nicest spring flower garden. It is full of tulips and daffodils(水仙花). Dad nods, “Yes, he does. It is hard for him to go outside in winter because he is old.”
At the store, Grace helps Dad choose milk, bread, and carrots. “You may choose a gift for yourself, Grace,” says Dad. Grace thinks an apple will taste good. ________ suddenly she says, “Oh, Dad, look, daffodils!” Dad smiles, “Is that the gift you want?” Grace nods.
